Sunset Watercolor Painting
Sunset Process
Finished Painting
This piece took me a very long time to make and I am very proud of how it turned out. The overall painting is subjected to the wolf, which is emphasized by using the principles of emphasis and contrast by using bright colors as the sunset and black as the main focus of the painting. This painting obviously contains a wolf, trees, mountains and a beautiful winter sunset. During the process of painting, I relied on using elements and principles to give the painting more realism and more stylized. By using texture and color, the painting became more surreal and overall gave off more feeling or emotions than just using black or white or using no texture. I also used many painting techniques to help me out and also to help give the painting different textures and layers. The techniques used in this painting are wet on wet, wet on dry, and lifting dry. Overall, I am very proud of how this turned out, and am hoping this project helped me further my painting skills for the future.
Landscape Painting
Finished Painting
I am super duper proud of how this piece turned out. I did have some problems making this piece, but it overall turned out how I wanted it to. In this piece, I relied on using the principle of balance to help make it more pleasing and to make your eyes move throughout the painting. I also used a lot of emphasis on the tree by making the colors bolder and by using lots of different textures and brush techniques. Some of those techniques include wet on wet, wet on dry, and lifting dry, which where also used throughout the rest of the painting. The elements of texture and color really helped me a lot with the foreground of the piece, and really also helps with making it more realistic and more stylized with the harsh brush strokes I like to use. Overall, I am very happy with this project, and I hope to make more like it in the future.
An Artist's Average Day- Still Life Painting
Finished Painting
This project turned out super good and I am very proud of it! I am super happy with how the still life looks, and the overall objects appearances, such as how the eraser contrasts the background so much and almost looks as though you can reach out and touch it, or how much the color of the green colored pencil or the eyes of the wolf pops out, which helps give the painting more life. Also, I used a lot of texture throughout this painting to make it more life like. As you can see, I used lots of small, precise lines on the wolf to show the overall depth of the fur, which was shown by using texture on that area on the lines painted. Another thing I used was movement, to show the direction of the fur and how it may move as if it were a real wolf. The overall painting means a whole lot to me, as it represents me as a person, and how much art has influenced my life. This project helped show me how to properly use acrylic, and how much fun it is to use, and I will definitely do more pieces like this one in the near future.
Small Self Portrait Painting
Finished Painting
I am super duper proud of how this project turned out! The subject matter of this painting is myself, as one might tell by my title. I wanted to do this picture out of any picture as it is me right before homecoming sophomore year, which was one of the best moments in my life. I think I greatly showed the happiness I had in this painting and all other emotions I had.
Spider-Man Far From Home Movie Poster
Finished Painting
I am overall super proud of how this one turned out! I am a huge Marvel fan, and being able to do Spider-Man as my subject matter made me super happy! In this piece, I used loads of colors and different values to add more depth to it and to make it more realistic. I also used Contrast to show how his face is turned to its side and also show how deep set his eyes are. Emphasis also helped a lot in creating this piece by using it to make a lookers eyes go directly towards Spider-Man, as he is clear and in focus compared to the background. This piece means a lot to me, as a person who really loves this movie franchise and I feel this piece is a great way to end my wonderful time in painting class. I am very proud of how much I have improved, and hope I get even better in the future.
