The content I am doing is my cat Boots because he means a lot to me and he has such beautiful coloring and patterns on his fur. I did this piece on my art tablet and used photoshop as the program for it. The foreground of the picture is the bottom of the couch, the middle ground is the back of the couch, and the background is the little wall showing up on the top corner of the picture. I used lots of color and texture in this piece to make certain aspects pop out. For example, his eyes pop out because it matches the color of the grass and his fur stand out because of the great details in it that make the fur appear to be moving. Movement was very important in the fur to make it look more realistic as well as contrast so the viewer knows that the cat is the subject of the piece and not the grass. You can see contrast with how dark the cat is compared to the surrounding environment. I am very proud with how this turned out, as it was sort of an experiment with realism on my tablet. and it still turned out really good!
Mystical Medieval Forest
The Materials I used to create this piece are watercolor and gouache paints. I made this piece about an enchanted forest with a fairy cradling a scared little mouse (which is scared of the traveling knight from a distant kingdom) surrounded by beautiful wildflowers and sitting on a squishy mushroom. I love fairy tales and mythical creatures, so when I got mythical characters and creatures as a theme, I was super excited and decided on drawing a fairy to get better at dynamic poses in humans and decided on doing the mouse, flowers, the castle, and the knight riding a horse to get better at doing small details in watercolor. I used color and texture to help create this work, which you can see throughout the piece with the bright colors I used and textures in the mouse’s fur and in the bark of the tree. I also used lots of contrast and emphasis in the piece which you can see contrast in the shadows throughout the whole painting and with how much lighter the background is than the front of the painting. You can also see emphasis in how much brighter the fairy and mouse are compared to the knight and horse in the background. Also, the flowers bring your eyes to the front of the piece where the fairy and mouse are which emphasizes that they are the main subject matter of the piece.
Si Project one:
When doing this project I was at first guided to get better at human anatomy, animal anatomy, and complex environments to better myself at art in order to fulfill my dream of becoming a cartoon creator. Later on, I fixed my question to "how can I create my story using several pieces of artwork"? The story behind this work is that Zachary, the boy on the ground, was summoned along with his two friends to a strange cave in the middle of nowhere. It is here they discover their destinies to become the next keepers of time. To create this work I used the program photoshop and a whole load of tools and brushes. Photoshop is a great program to draw in because of its wide variety of tools and brushes, so that is the reason I chose to use it for this project. The brushes I used are the soft round opacity and flow brush, The soft round pressure opacity, the hard round pressure size, and all of Kyles splatter brushes( which helped create the sparks for the flames and textures in the moss seen throughout the piece). All of the pressure brushes were used to color, shade, ect. To make this work I used many different techniques. I used lots of colors and textures through out the piece to give it a more realistic look. I also added lots of value and movement, which can be seen in the fire and in the shadows of the people. I believe these things really helped bring the piece together and made it look like a movie poster in the end project! Overall, this piece was 13 by 19 inches and is absolutely massive!

Si Project two:
While working on this project, I decided to change my SI statement so that it relates to how I can create and further my story in depictions of art. In this piece, It shows the main character, Zachary, frightened at what he had just heard and seen from the old man in the cave wondering what had just happened. As the viewer may have seen, his left pupil has turned into a clock signifying his new found power that he has gained in the cave. To create this work I used charcoal pencils and a white gel pen. I used many different har and soft charcoals to make certain areas look more lifelike as well as used white gel pen to give certain areas brighter highlight than they grey of its surroundings. For the hair, I mostly used a 2b charcoal pencil to get fine hairs and a 6b charcoal pencil to give dark spots to it. I also used an eraser to give lighter hairs and some highlights in other places as well. To create the skin, a blender was mostly used to keep the skin looking translucent and soft. The clothing was also made in the same manner but is not as translucent as the skin. The background was just created using a 6b pencil, an eraser, and white gel pen. The overall size of this work is 16 x 20 in. This piece is my favorite I have done so far in ap!

Si Project three:
My question is how I can create and further my story in depictions of art. This piece shows the villain(s) of my story (Klaudius and his "cat" Mina). He is shown in a hell scape of sorts with hellhounds, tearing at each other and one with an actual human arm in its mouth, because he was banished there due to him abusing his powers once he used to be a keeper. His left side of his face is severely burned due to the revoking of his powers, helping reveal how corrupt he really is. Mina in this scene is telling Klaudius that the new Keepers have been summoned and that the old one is finally dead. T To create this work I used colored pencils and white gel pen. I also used a exacto knife to make small markings on Mina's face. To create this work I first sketched out my design on a piece of paper, then lightly started to layer on color, and kept doing this same process throughout the rest of the piece. The size of this work is 8 by 10 inches and I am so glad with how he turned out! He looks absolutely terrifying!

Si project 4:
the question that guided this project is how can I show my story I want to create with multiple pieces of artwork. This piece Is made as a comic strip to help better develop my story. Here, the main character Zachary is bragging about how he actually listened to the old keeper shown in my first si, and how lucky they are to have them there. He is then met with a cliff and almost falls as he was not paying attention to where he was going. The ground then crumbles beneath him as it was not a very stable cliff side to begin with, and he falls as his friends lunge to try and catch him. The program I used to make this piece is photoshop because it is a very nice reliable art program and has many nice brushes to use. I used so many different brushes on this piece, including the same ones I used previously in my first si as well as some new brushes I downloaded off the internet. To create this piece I made a sketch, and outlined the sketch in line art. Then I colored the lines in and added shadows and highlights. Then I added small details like grass and bark. The size of this work is 14 by 17 inches and will be continued in more artworks.
Wolf Fumage Painting
Done with acrylic paint, candles, a lighter, charcoal, and gel pen
Lurking in the Dark
This piece was made for a contest and was made using charcoal pencils and white gel pen. I Thought a tiger in charcoal surrounded by darkness could be a cool piece to do, while also working on my practical skills as well. I also really love tigers a lot and find them to be very cool.
Consumed by the Darkness
The question the helped guide me for this work is that I want to show a story through all of the pieces I create. This piece shows one of the villains of the story, a "cat" named mina, surrounded by darkness and feathers. Mina in my story is not only a cat, but a griffin who appears as a cat to disguise herself. The feathers symbolize her griffin counterpart and the darkness symbolizes her evil towards others and in her heart. To create this work I used acrylic paint on a 16' by 20' canvas. I also used a pencil to make a grid for me to go by at the beginning. first I added black to parts of the background and made a yellow blob of paint where I wanted the eye to be. Then I added grays and whites to the face to give it more dimension. I also added small fur marks and whiskers to the face to make it seem more realistic. As I was painting, I kept building up the details on the eye with different shades of yellow till I got it to how I wanted it to look. To create the feathers, I added grays, bright colors, and whites to make them look like a luminescent raven feather. Then I added a black wash over top to pull it all together. Overall I am very pleased with how this piece looks and hope my next one is just as good.
Si Project 6
The question that helped guide me for this work is how I want to show my story through all of the pieces I create. This work relates back to my fourth si. It is a comic that helps show the power of the main character, Zachary. In this comic, Zachary can be seen gaining his power to be able to fly due to his will to not die. The others look in awe as he sprouts wings made of light out of his back and is saved from his doom. To create this comic, I used the program Photoshop and drew on it using my Wacom Cintique 16 in Tablet. I also used multiple brushes on photoshop, including manga brush set and biohazard brushes. When creating this piece, I first drew out a sketch on a 14 in x 17 in page. I then lowered the opacity of that layer and drew overtop of it with crisp line work. Once the line work was done, I colored and shaded the people, then worked on the background and small details. I feel this work looks very nice with the last comic strip I did and I am very happy with the turnout of this one!
